#2

No venue, no party. Having the right venue creates the perfect atmosphere!
Here are a few options that you can consider:

  • Chalets
  • Hotel Rooms
  • Cafes

To be covered in the next post!

  • Condominium Function Rooms
  • Country Club Function Rooms
  • Yacht
  • House party

CHALETS

Treehouse Villas @ Changi
326 Neverathon Road

Hands down the best chalet in Singapore! The place is really beautifully designed and decorated, makes you feel like you're overseas. I'm not a fan of chalets because I think they're dirty, but the Treehouse Villas is an exception. So if you are a clean freak like me, this chalet wouldn't be a problem at all. However, the Treehouse Villas are under MINDEF and only open to SAF regulars and MINDEF professionals. This means that you have to go through a SAF regular/MINDEF professional to make a booking.

Aranda Country Club Chalet
60 Pasir Ris Drive 3
Singapore 519497

The exterior of this place isn't exactly pleasant looking, definitely nothing compared to the Treehouse Villas! In fact, the corridors and entrance of the chalet are really dark and gloomy. Finding your way to the correct unit might be a problem too. HOWEVER, looks can be deceiving! The Aranda Chalets are quite spacious and comfortable, good for those who have a long guest list.

Aloha Loyang Chalet
159W Jalan Loyang Besar

Extremely extremely spacious! But definitely not for those who are looking for a pretty or nicely decorated venue. If you're more of the practical sort, Aloha Loyang's for you! Plenty of space for all your guests to sit comfortably around (and even chill in the bed rooms). It's quite a walking distance from Downtown East, so remind your guests to drive if possible!

Aloha Changi Chalet
30 Netheravon Road

Reviews from the birthday girl Regina (in the photo below!) -

"I think it's a nice place to have a party! Because the chalet is really spacious, mine was Aloha Changi Fairy Point Chalet 1. The living room was super big and could accommodate a lot of people. There were also extra plastic chairs given so all of my guests had at least a place to sit. The kitchen was linked to the living room area so it was very convenient and accessible. I also like that they had a bathroom just down the corridor a few steps away from the kitchen! So instead of having the guests to climb all the way up to go to the toilet, they can access it easily (there's another toilet upstairs). The living room area was good for hanging decorations and all because the walls were white and there was ample space for photo taking and hanging of photos. The only bad thing about the place was that it's quite inaccessible for guests who have to travel by public transport because its quite remote. Even the delivery men had trouble finding the place. Overall, I think it's a really great place to hold a part."

HOTEL ROOMS

The St. Regis Singapore
29 Tanglin Rd, 247911

Located in Orchard, St.Regis provides a rather central location for your guests. But of course, a good location comes with a price! So expect to spend quite a bit on your room. St. Regis would be suitable for those who are looking for a classy and glamorous theme. But because the size of the room isn't big, some of your guests might have to sit on the floor. Remember to keep a limit on your guest list! They provide really good service so let them know that it's your birthday and they might just throw in additional services at no cost!

Crowne Plaza Hotel - Changi Airport
75 Airport Blvd, Singapore 819664

This is a hotel that I would totally recommend! Crowne Plaza offers really reasonable rates for such a big, spacious and really nice room (It's actually two rooms combined - I suggest you book a suite and an additional connected room beside it) Look at the third photo below - the entire area could comfortably fit that large a group. The only downside of this venue is that it's located at Changi Airport. While your friends who stay in the East would be grateful, it's gonna be a test of friendship for those living in the West! But then again, the hotel is located right above the Changi Airport MRT station so it's still convenient for those who are travelling by train.

Copthorne King's Hotel Singapore
403 Havelock Rd, 169632

Nope guys, this is not the one beside Zouk (that's Grand Copthorne). Besides Crowne Plaza, Copthorne King is another hotel that is really value for money! It only costs $400 to get a suite that's big enough to accommodate at least 40 people.

CAFES

Cafes are usually the 'lazier' option - because most cafes are already very beautifully designed and they will prepare the food and drinks for you. This will save you a lot of work! Cafes are really cosy and if you're willing to spend (They usually charge at least $40 per head), please do consider!

 November 8
11 Sin Ming Rd, 575629

November 8's a rather new cafe situated in Upper Thomson. I love how this place has a huge chalkboard at the corner of the cafe, where you can draw and have your own design on it. They have guitars around too, so your guests can feel free to pick one up and strum the evening away. When I spoke to the owner, he said the cost for booking the place for a private event is approximately $45 per head. But the rates are negotiable, depending on your chosen menu!

Nine Thirty by Awfully Chocolate
Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay
8 Raffles Avenue #02-14 Singapore 039802

This place probably has the best interior design out of all the venues I've listed in this post! You really don't have to do any additional decorations at all. There's also plenty of room for your guests. Furthermore, it's situated in Esplanade! Your guests can enjoy a nice and relaxing walk outside Esplanade, along the Marina Bay floating platform. Cost is $45 per pax, if you're interested in getting an extra dessert - that would be $50 per pax.
