COUNTRY CLUBS
Orchid
Country Club
1 Orchid Club Rd, Singapore 769162
Otherwise, you can consider smaller function rooms such as the Jade or Sapphire rooms (http://www.orchidclub.com/moby/cms/conferences_meetings/meeting_venues/)
They provide food in buffet style and the cheapest package is $58++
per pax. There is a 10% discount for all Orchid Country Club members. I'm a
member here so do let me know if you're interested in booking a venue at OCC!
Serangoon Gardens Country Club
22 Kensington Park Rd, 557271
Serangoon Gardens Country Club is located in Serangoon Gardens (Duh), right beside the famous Chomp Chomp! It's smaller than Orchid Country Club, but they do have quite a few function rooms too.
First up, the Causarina Room. The Causarina Room can fit approximately 50 people. It's located right at the entrance of the Country Club, so your guests will have no problems finding it. Didn't really like this room because of the dim lights and it actually looks a little old (even though they claimed that the room has just been renovated). I'm guessing that most people use it for meetings etc., but the room can be easily transformed into one for having a party!
Secondly, Club Twenty-Two! This room is amazing - A 4-in-1 entertainment hub encompassing the Dance & Music Lounge. Karaoke Lounge & Rooms and Darts Lounge. It has a bar, a dance floor, a stage (yes, a legit raised-up stage) with all the musical instruments that you need. If you have friends who are musically inclined and you want to have live performances at your party, this is a place you might want to consider! However, it has quite a disco/karaoke feel, those kind of places where you expect to see old people dancing. Apologies for the small photo below, this is the only one I could find.
Thirdly, Kensington Ballroom. This is actually a mega large ballroom, more for weddings. BUT, you can speak to the manager and they can help you partition the ballroom into a smaller segment so it looks something like this -
They also have a mini raised up stage, sound system, screen and projector.
Last but not least, the Pool Deck! This alfresco style beer garden is ideal for a pool party. You can even rent their poolside barbeque pit and pray that it will not rain on that day.
CONDOMINIUMS
Unless you know someone who's staying in a condominium, you most probably will not be able to book a function room in that condo. I can't possibly list every single condo in Singapore here, so I'll just list a few that I thought were really amazing venues! If you have friends who happen to stay in one of these condominiums, good for you! Otherwise, you can just get a general feel of what it's like to have a party in a condominium.
Emerald Park
6 Indus Road
I didn't manage to visit the function room for Emerald Park, but the pool side alone was amazing! The photo below does no justice to how lovely the entire setting was.
(You can have your pool party at the far top right hand corner of this photo)
An outdoor venue means natural sunlight for your photos. Looking good here ladies!
Seasons View
5 Pemimpin Drive
A house party would look something like...
Seasons View
5 Pemimpin Drive
Another great venue for pool party lovers! I have been to Seasons View a number of times and each time I visit this place, the pool is EMPTY (Especially in the evening). This venue is really good for those who want to have a barbeque pool side party, because the pit is just right beside the pool and there are plenty of benches for your guests to sit around. There's even an outdoor jacuzzi and many pool side beach chairs for your guests to rest after an entire night of partying. It gets really quiet at night, you might even fall asleep while star gazing by the pool on one of those big comfy beach chairs!
Castle Green
481 Yio Chu Kang Rd
Castle Green has a huge function room so no worries at all if you have a long guest list. They have
really cute octagon-shaped tables (like those you see in some primary school classrooms). Your guests might find it nice that they can sit in a circle and chit chat with one another.
Euro Asia
The function room is just right beside the pool. Though small, it's a really cosy area for your guests to mingle around. If you're thinking of catering food, the buffet line would most probably have to be set-up outside so you won't take up space in the room.
Ridgewood Condominium
I love how Ridgewood's function room has such a simple but nice design. The entire room is painted in white and its very spacious! Only downside of this venue is that it's a little inaccessible so your guests might have difficulties locating the place.
HOUSE
Unless you have a friend/relative who stays in a huge landed property and willing to let you use it for the day, don't bother considering this option. A house party can be really cosy and heartwarming. But as Singaporeans would say "Got money also cannot buy" - even if you're willing to spend thousands on a venue, that might still not be able to get you a nice house for a party, unless of course, your friend/relative is nice enough!
A house party would look something like...
House #1
House #2
House #3
House #4
YACHT
FINALLY, THE LAST VENUE ON MY LIST. Is having a party on land too boring for you? Head to the waters then! Everyone should attend a yacht party at least once in his/her life. Some wine, finger food, good music, cooling sea's breeze - perfecto! But they usually have restrictions on the number of people you can invite (approximately 10-18, depending on the size of the yacht).
I have contacts for yachts rentals, so if you're interested, just drop me a message at bertricetiong@gmail.com!
Next up, Party Themes!
